Tech N9ne received a shout out in the editorial of this month’s (December/January 2011) issue of XXL magazine. The editorial takes the form of a letter addressed to Lil Wayne, which celebrates his release and tells him how much he was missed during his incarceration. Towards the end of the editorial the magazine makes a wish that Wayne return to his mixtape game and spit over some of the latest hot beats. At the end of the wish list, Tech N9ne is mentioned:

There’s been a Wayne drought. We know you could hear NYC’s Hot 97 while you were in there so you’re up on whats been going on in music, but we made a list of eats we’d like you to kill anyway–Rick Ross’s “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast),” Waka Flocka Flames’s “Hard In Da Paint,” Kanye West’s “Monster.” Hip-hop’s waiting for the return of Mixtape Weezy. Word is you and Tech N9ne plan on working together. Can’t say the XXL fam isn’t ecstatic about that collaboration. KCMO!
