In the late 1980’s, Public Enemy sought to Bum Rush The Show. Decades later, the West Coast collective known as Black Hippy is seeking to do the same. Hitting hard over a jazz like production, “Constipation” is a rebel cry from the four MCs who trade bars back and forth in an intense show of skill. “We finna shock the nation” they proclaim during the hook, and this is exactly what “Constipation” could very well do. Jay Rock’s voice stands out on the second verse with his usual abrasive nature as he barks line after line with Kendrick Lamar. The pair pay tribute to past MCs who paved the way, and in turn give the track a nice throwback vibe. Politically and socially driven, “Constipation” stirs both the listeners mind and ears.
