Opening with a huge wall of strings, the track begins with a serious warning to listeners everywhere. Coupled with stomping drums and an almost muffled piano, “We Runnin Thangz” creates a frightening look at the streets. Kicking things off like a true top dog, Jay Rock takes over the first verse with a real urgency in his voice. Laying down his signature rough vocals, Jay lays claim to his hood and the rap game:

Black Hippy always murder them tracks with no trace

Touched up with some help from auto-tune, the hook flows over the hypnotic melody. Jay Rock brings the heat once more on yet another West Coast banger.
