As an underrated MC himself, Tech N9ne knows the struggle that it takes to finally be recognized. Years of standing on the outside looking in have only strengthened his work ethic, and brought him to the forefront of independent music. It’s this experience in the music industry that gives Tech a good perspective on other MCs in the game. RedBullUSA.com recently sat down with Tech before the release of All 6’s And 7’s, and asked him to list his “Top 5 Most Underrated Rappers”. Looking past what some would consider obvious answers, Tech compiled a list of peers that he holds in high regards.

Included in the list are Chino XL, Pharoahe Monch, and Tech’s own labelmate, Brotha Lynch Hung, who Tech compliments with:

“When Lynch did Dinner And A Movie, I just wanted people to listen, to listen to how he raps. When Lynch sent me back his verse for “My World”, at that moment, I said to [my business partner Travis O’Guin], ‘We’ve got to sign this dude.’ I want the best people on my team.”

Fans may be surprised at some of the names Tech mentions, and how he really feels about each one of them.
