Chris Brown Gets Hooked On ‘Follow Me Home’

Published: July 18, 2011 in Jay Rock by

Storming the industry at age sixteen, Chris Brown has spent much of his young life at the top of the music business.  With his first hit single, “Run It”, Chris Brown became a bonafide superstar in the R&B world.  His diversity and love for  hard hitting production has allowed him to flawlessly crossover into the world of hip hop.

Chris Brown’s career began at thirteen when a production team discovered his talent and shopped him to record labels in New York.  Ultimately signing with Jive Records, the young singer release his self titled album in 2005, which landed the #2 spot on Billboard’s Top 200.  The album later went on to be certified two times platinum, signifying the beginning of Chris’ successful mainstream career.  His sharp dance routines have commonly drawn him comparisons to Michael Jackson, someone that Brown has noted as a large influence.

Following his first album, Chris Brown went on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music.  His hip hop friendly style allowed him to extend his fan base with hits like “I Can Transform Ya” featuring Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz.  Most recently, Chris released the monster hit “Look At Me Now” featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.  Flexing his rhyming skills, Chris dropped flows that surprised even his most die hard fans.  With two platinum records, one gold certification, and multiple awards, Chris Brown stands as one of R&B’s musical giants.

Bringing his star power to Jay Rock’s Follow Me Home, Chris Brown appears on the single, “Westside”.  Produced by Tha Bizness, the radio friendly hit finds Chris laying down some seductive vocals on the hook, which boasts a big sound thanks to the layered delivery.  Choosing a softer touch to contrast Jay’s aggressive delivery, Chris Brown gives the track the R&B vibe it needs to connect with ladies everywhere.  The West Coast banger has the potential to be a huge mainstream hit, and with Chris Brown smashing out the hook, Follow Me Home gets another shot at breaking through to the top.
