Krizz Kaliko Speaks On Minneapolis, Epic Events Center

Jul 9 2011

Why does Minneapolis always turn into a great show? Who better to ask than Strange Music’s resident Genius himself, Krizz Kaliko? As Minnesotans anticipate Strange Music’s arrival at the Epic Events Center on Sunday July 10, 2011, we asked Krizz what he thought of the Twin Cities.

What do you think of the Epic Events Center?

It’s one of my favorite places to play, I really like it. The sound is always really good in there. I always felt that it’s an old Prince club, that’s really what like about it because I’m a super-big Prince fan. That’s one of Prince’s old clubs. He owned it, it used to be called The Glam Slam back in the 80s.

Why does Minneapolis love you guys so much?

Well you know it’s about repetitious programming. We’ve been there so many times is pretty much what it is. It’s the same reason why people in Bismarck, North Dakota are receptive to Strange Music: we’re known for our show, we’re known for that energy, we’re known for that elite music and all of that. It’s just been undeniable. We get on stage, anywhere we go, it pretty much spreads like a virus. Minneapolis is no different–we’ve been coming there for over ten years.
