With only months separating the releases of All 6’s And 7’s and Welcome To Strangeland, Tech N9ne demonstrated just how much power independent music really had in 2011. The fourth installment in the Collabos series, Welcome To Strangeland brought the entire Strange Music roster together for a one of a kind project that made its own impact in the latter half of the year.

With singles like “Who Do I Catch” and “The Noose”, Welcome To Strangeland quickly created a buzz across the online hip hop community. Running down the Top 40 Albums Of 2011, AllHipHop.com listed Welcome To Strangeland at #18, ranking above releases from Pusha-T, Drake, Mac Miller, and Tyler The Creator. Breaking down the makings of the album, AllHipHop.com wrote:

“Tech N9ne continued to dominate the underground with the fourth release of his Collabos series, Welcome To Strangeland. With perfectly-placed guest spots from Jay Rock, Krizz Kalliko, and Brotha Lynch Hung to name a few, Welcome to Strangeland oozes raw emotion, soul, lyrical dexterity, and spirituality, making it a standout from everything else that was released this year”

After receiving a seemingle endless amount of praise for All 6’s And 7’s this past week, Tech N9ne is now in the spotlight for his strongest Collabos effort yet. 2011 may have had an impressive slew of releases from hip hop, but it’s hard to argue with God status.
