The Kansas City area is about to get one hell of a weekend as the official Dancefestopia Music Festival prepares for two non-stop days of live music with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Flo-Rida, Yelawolf, XV, and even Strange Music’s own Kutt Calhoun.

We recently caught up with the Kansas City Chief to see what fans in attendance can expect from his live festival performance.

Dancefestopia invites people from all around to join in for a weekend of music, camping, and late-night partying. With so many new potential fans and a priceless amount of exposure, Kutt Calhoun is more than excited to drop in:

“I’ll be performing Saturday at 8:45 in the evening, which is a great slot. It worked out in my favor, it’s like a blessing for real. It’s a great opportunity, I feel honored to be a part of it. It’s a big deal. I don’t think anybody from Strange has ever even performed at one of these.”

While Kutt is no doubt looking to impress anyone within earshot, it’s the Strange Music fans that can expect plenty of surprises including an early preview of Kutt’s upcoming Calling My Name Tour:

“I’m doing the same show on Saturday that I’ll be doing on the Calling My Name Tour. It’s a solid forty-five minutes of nothing but Raw And Un-Kutt energy. No pun intended. Yeah, raw and uncut energy, up-tempo, smash after smash, back to back, and a lot of entertainment. I’ve got some of my Michael Jackson stuff I’m doing for ‘I See It‘. I’ve got a couple of entertaining little things that I’m doing for ‘Hard Dick And Bubble Gum’ and I’m doing ‘Flip it Ova‘. I’m doing quite a few songs that I’ve never done on stage before. I heard the fans loving these type of songs, so it’s going to be real hot and energetic.”

Make no mistake though, while Kutt plans on having plenty of fun with the Dancefestopia crowd, he is most definitely out on a mission to live up to the reputation of Strange Music:

“I aim to put on a show and have a great performance. Even the people that don’t know me- I’ll gain some new fans. From where I come from, Strange Music and Tech, we’re known for our stage show. I aim to put on a show and do my best to outshine everybody else that’s there. Outside of pyrotechnics or something like that, I’m not gonna have anything like that, but I’m definitely going to give the people their money’s worth.”
