Hostile Takeover 2012 – Strange Openers: Colorado Springs, Colorado With North Side Ninjaz [Interview]

Published: May 11, 2012 in Strange Music by

With 97 stops pegged, the tour needs the best possible opening acts to capture the energy of the audience and keep the momentum going – a daunting task to some, but also a rite of passage. We caught up with some of the upcoming opening acts on the Hostile Takeover 2012 Tour, here is what they had to say.

Opening up for the 5/16 show at The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, Colorado is North Side Ninjaz.

Tell us a little bit about yourself – how long you’ve been in the game, your inspirations, and your aspirations.

We are the North Side Ninjaz aka NSN, composed of HEX and InfraRed Jonez. We lost one of our original members Steve-O to a tragic death in 2009. We signed to Lyrikal Snuff Productionz last year and released our EP Real Killa featuring Hopsin, SwizZz and King Gordy

We started kicking tracks in 2009 and started performing a few months after that and haven’t ever stopped. We’ve opened up for everyone on Psychopathic Records, most of Suburban Noize and after the Hostile Takeover tour, most of Strange Music as well.

Our inspirations include artists such as Wu-Tang, La Coka Nostra (especially Ill Bill), Psychopathic Records, Mr. Hyde, Brotha Lynch, Tech N9ne and many many more! WE LOVE REAL MUSIC.

Our aspirations are to simply follow our dream of being able to make music and tour the world.

How does it feel to be part of a legendary, world-record setting hip-hop tour?

Its truly an honor to be a part of this tour. We have wanted to open up for Tech for years! It’s amazing to me that we get to share the stage with one of our largest musical influences and someone I’ve looked up to for my entire adult life.

How long have you been down with Strange Music?

Since I heard the Absolute Power sampler in 2003.

What can the Technicians expect out of your show?

High energy, brutal lyricism and mosh pits.

Anything you would like to say to the Technicians coming out to the show?

Don’t be scared to have a good time, Make sure you check out our performance.
