Twista Talks Double Time Rap And Tech N9ne

Following the world premiere of Krizz Kaliko’s “Kill Shit” featuring Twista and Tech N9ne, XXL sat down with Chicago’s own Twista to discuss his current status in the game and how he feels about other tongue twisting emcees.

Looking to secure a new home for his music, Twista has continued to make headlines as he teases which label he will head to. Speaking to XXL, Twista shared his view on double time rap and the emcees who have made the delivery their own:

“It’s fun listening to it. Back then, people used to be hot about it, like you mad a person is stealing your style. But we so far passed that phase now. I just listen and pay respect or give that nod when I see somebody do their thing. That’s why I named Machine Gun Kelly. I love Tech N9ne, but he a vet. I named Kendrick. One of the reasons I name him is because when I see Kendrick he gets down in a way I can appreciate because he just don’t sound like me when he do it. I like when cats can expand on style and not just sound like Twista.”

With a stunning appearance on Krizz Kaliko’s “Kill Shit” and more still on the way, Twista is proving his longevity in hip hop.
