‘Top Notch’ – Parlé Magazine Reviews Stevie Stone’s ‘2 Birds 1 Stone’

Aug 16 2013

With 2 Birds 1 Stone, Stevie Stone has all the tools for a classic: epic production, insane flows and immediately-memorable hooks. The effect of this deadly combination isn’t lost on Parlé Magazine, who were the first to review Stevie’s latest trunk-rattling, head-nodding and endlessly-repeatable sophomore album under Strange Music.

Parlé says:

While most albums have one masterpiece, 2 Birds 1 Stone appears to have two. The anthemic, “Grave Digga” feels Bonecrusher-esque with its brazen punch and the finale “1 O’clock Jump,” is radio ready and will have you turning the volume up on your speakers. “Phases” more or less keeps with the album’s hard hitting theme of club bangers and reflections. It is a reflective cut on life as Stone ruminates on the clarity that one receives in the different stages of their life. “Boomerang” is a track on relationships. Stevie Stone remarks on the arguments. It is the what goes around, comes around feature on the album. “Boo Thing,” is another radio friendly piece that surprisingly works amidst the creations that are presented here.
