3 Things We Learned From Tech N9ne’s “Hard” Ft. MURS

Published: February 13, 2014 in Strange Music, Tech N9ne by

Recently the world got a taste of Strangeulation when Tech N9ne went on Sway In The Morning to promote the album and introduce the world to the newest member of Strange Music, MURS.

After dropping news like that, it was only right that they played the track “Hard” off the upcoming album, which featured Tech and MURS both delivering insane verses over one of the hardest beats we’ve heard all year.

In between losing our shit and breaking our necks to the beat, we actually learned a few things from this track, and we’re going to share them with you.

Constipated1. Tech N9ne is the only rapper who is still allowed to use “constipated” lines.

On the list of played-out metaphors, anything revolving around constipation is usually near the top of the list.

In this track however, Tech completely revives the otherwise intolerable “constipated” metaphor in the hook, and we thank him for that.

Murs Strange2. MURS fits in perfectly with Strange Music.

If there was ever any doubt before, MURS’ verse on “Hard” sealed the deal.

Sharp lyrics fueled by the desire to leave the mainstream music industry in shambles combined with wordplay that requires multiple listens dominated MURS’ rhymes.

This is the exact type of elite lyricism Strange Music has come to be known for, so any naysayers out there, you may kindly shut your trap (pun intended).

Charlie3. Strangeulation is going to be FUCKING INSANE.

After hearing this track, we’ve been so insanely hyped for Strangeulation that we’ve contacted several mad scientists to request a time machine that will take us to May 6th.

Seriously, this album is so packed full of insane lyricism and head-exploding production that we may have to just quit listening to music after it drops.

As we anxiously count down to the release of Strangeulation, we’re comfortable in the fact that it’s going to be one of the most epic hip hop releases of the year. Now we just have to make it through the next few months without pulling an Oceans 11 on Strangeland to get the track files….

  • - Who do you hope to see collaborate together on Strangeulation?
