We hear it all the time, but what exactly is a big homie?

Complex Music offers the following criteria to be considered “The Big Homie”:

A big homie, to us, is someone who’s resume is unfuckwithable. Someone who’s had continuous, notable success for multiple years. Someone who has amassed a fortune from rap and outside businesses and partnerships. It’s also someone who’s not only respected by most, but also cool with nearly everyone

With that in mind, Complex broke down the top 10 biggest homies in the game, featuring the likes of Puff Daddy, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Rick Ross.

None of their picks were really a surprise. These are all guys that are respected by nearly all their peers and have had sizable success, but we must admit when we saw Tech N9ne among the honorable mentions, we were pretty excited about the recognition, especially considering the kind words Complex had for the Kansas City King:

Stop sleeping on Tech N9ne! Tech might not be a household name and people are probably gonna front on him for life, but it doesn’t matter. Tech is a king in the midwest and his Strange Music empire has set the template for what independent hip-hop can do. As hip-hop continues to go more independent, smart rappers would watch and learn from Tech’s moves.

With Tech gaining more popularity seemingly every week, we can only wonder how long it will be until Tech is at the top of the list!
