Since the announcement of All 6’s And 7’s, there has been much debate over the true meaning of the phrase and now title of Tech N9ne’s new album. For a man that we normally associate with the number 9, Tech has been pushing All 6’s And 7’s as something he felt from within. In a UStream broadcast from several months ago, Tech briefly described the meaning behind the phrase.Tech explained that the phrase originated from playing craps. When someone is placing all of their money on one bet, they would have to be at 6’s and 7’s because of how crazy it is. He further explained that it described a state of confusion and disarray, which is how he felt on the inside.

While Tech’s explanation for the phrase seems to be the most common, there are many different ways to look at All 6’s And 7’s. The phrase originates from Old English terminalogy used to describe those who were chaotic and confused. In fact, the phrase is so common in English society that it turned up in the Austin Powers: Gold Member film. In short, the English use it as a way to describe a lunatic. As it turns out, Tech was not the only rock star to connect the phrase with gambling. In 1972, The Rolling Stones released their single, “Tumbling Dice“, from their critically acclaimed album, Exile On Main St. The blues infused “Tumbling Dice” tells the story of a disorderly gambler who can’t keep just one woman:

“Always in a hurry, I never stop to worry
Don’t see the time flashin’ by
Honey, got no money
I’m all sixes’ and sevens and nines”

A more sinister look at the numbers 6 and 7, reveals a darker side behind the phrase. In biblical numerology, the numbers are considered opposites as 6’s stand for the domain of Hell, and 7’s for that of Heaven. This refers to someone being morally split over what to do, “His soul was all Sixes and Sevens”. Keeping in the numbers game, one creative Tech N9ne fan shared a numerical discovery over Facebook. While looking at the Periodic Table Of Elements, he discovered that by adding the atomic numbers for the elements K(Potassium), C(Carbon), and MO(Molybdenum), the sum would equal 67. The math looks something like this:
KCMO= 19(K)+6(C)+42(MO)= 67
If that wasn’t eerie enough, just take a look at what he was able to produce from Tech N9ne’s most famous numbers. Tech’s 6688846993, a signature of the Nnutthowze, turns out to be another piece of the puzzle. When the numbers are all added up, they equal 67. Here’s a look at the proof:
6+6+8+8+8+4+6+9+9+3= 67 The numbers are all beginning to add up for Tech’s All 6’s And 7’s. If the cryptic meanings are a sign of anything, then we know to expect the unexpected. The insanity that Tech N9ne has embraced in his music is at an all time high. With Tech N9ne feeling like he is in a state of disarray and confusion, his fans join him on the same emotional ride. The fans are currently voicing their split feelings over Tech’s new mainsteram notoriety, leaving the entire world of Strange Music at All 6’s And 7’s. The timing could not be any more perfect for Tech N9ne’s biggest album to date.
