How do you feel about rappers like Lil' wayne and Gucci Mane who lack lyrical talent.

You've always made it a big point to make sure there is meaning behind your lyrics. Other rappers are said to be the "best rapper alive" spitting straight bullshit that doesnt rhyme or make sense.

Totally agree with you. To me Wayne was cool back in the day but it jus seems he got wrapped up in the fame and money. Gucci man is striaght up shit. How can this nigga think he is that good. for one he talks like he is a "RE RE" (retarted) and for christ sakes he made the song "Icy" lol

Wayne does have lyricaly talent, he just hasn't been using it in a while. But you can't say he has no talent at all

Neither of them lack lyrical talent. Their lyrics just don't fit in to your (and most underground rap fan's) likings.

Wayne has 10 times the talent he gets credit for from underground fans. Yes, he is mainstream. And yes, his lyrics can be very... played out. But he often says shit that's just like "damn! did he just say that?!". I think Wayne goes hard, and I'm not even a fan boy of his. I hardly ever listen to Wayne. But when I do, I enjoy it. I just wish he wasn't so pop like now a days.

i agree he says things that make you wanna rewind and hear it again. but they are all metaphors over and over. imo he has good lines, not good lyrics.

First of all, when it comes to emcees, I'm into lyrics; the beat can be hot, but if the dude's not spitting hard, why listen to it? When I listen to it, I listen for the "Damn, did he just say that?" factor-I haven't heard that from Gucci, but I hear that pop up in Wayne's music occasionally(he's better on his mixtapes; check for Dedication 3, and No Celings(it's okay)). I don't think Wayne's at the "Greatest" level yet, but he could get there in a few years. Hell, Tech's beyond Wayne, IMHO, and I'm not just saying that because it's his board.

lol like that yin yang, even though it is farther than fuck fromn the truth lol.
on topic, i don't think they're worth my time to listen to, there are plenty of other artists that make good songs and have lyrics that make sense. there are only two artists that have constant rotation on my ipod. jmt and tech. also i can't stand lil wayne, the fact that he is soooo overrated makes me wanna punch stuff everytime i hear one of his songs. hes got a few good ones tho...
