My thoughts on the "KALIKO DIGS SOULJA BOY"thread

    <p ="text-align: left;"><img src="http://priv.strangetest.com/wp-content/uploads/vbullfiles/t18858-SouljaBoyu06.jpg" alt=""/>[/p]

I know ,I know I couldve just commented on the original thread but half you fukkers dont even read the comments and just post.So allow me to hit you ppl off with some G-A-M-E.Yes most of us can agree that Soulja Boy is no fuckin Shakespeare when it comes to rhyming/rapping or whatever the fuck you want to call it.On the other hand he's a pretty good producer/self promoter. So in all actuality he can make music and he does know how to market himself.(connect with his fans and make new ones)Like I said ,lyrically he isnt gonna move any mountains or win a damn pulitzer prize. On the other hand,
you will find thousands in attendance at his concerts all dancing to the same song and having a good time.Situations like these promote peace and positivity. So why so much ill will towards this young man?? Im 28 yrs old and whoever else is around the same age(give or take)grew up in the so called "Golden Era" of hiphop. Now in the late 80's to the mid 90's "Gangsta Rap" emerged and absolutely took the rap game by storm.Yes you had certain artists as well as fans bitching and complaining about the content and amount of skill that these "Gangsta" rappers were displaying within thier matierial.Sound familiar???I guess what Im really trying to say is,why are we as fans and critics so hateful when it comes to another person being successful???Look at the bigger picture.Hundreds of thousands of ppl go every year to see S.B. perform in order to have a good time and forget about the ills of the previous day or week.Again this promotes "PEACE and POSITIVITY".Isnt that one component of hiphop or what it should be sometimes? Now when you look at the humble beginnings of hiphop and how some of it came to be what it is now.You had artists in great city of N.Y who couldnt afford musical instruments and paint easels. So what did they do???They picked up moms record player, dads spray paint and the local brick walls and created thier own culture which we all enjoy today one way or the other. Now this story sounds a lil familiar when you take a look at soulja boy and his humble beginnings. He really didnt have shit but a "fruity loops" music program, shitty mic and the wonderful world wide web.And look what he did for his family and the entire hiphop culture.
For his family,he has provided a better future all the way down to the generations to come. For the hiphop culture and the rest of aspiring musicians, he layed down the fucking blueprint when it comes to being successful within this day and age of entertainment and music.
He used the internet to propel himself into success. So really whether some of you dont like to admit or for some of you who are too young to remember the early stages of hiphop/rap music Im going to say this.
SOULJA BOY IS THE EPITOME OF HIPHOP!!! If you are an artist that has wishes of being successful in this day and age,or if you think you can make better music than S.B. then to be honest, you have no fuckin excuse on why you shouldnt or cant make it. This lil motherfucker showed us all how to ball and support his entire family with this rap shit.I personally dont like his music but there is no way I am hating on this dude.Hes done too much for the culture for me to hate on this youngster.

I agree.. As far as his success goes, I'm a fan of his hustle, not his music. I respect what hes done for himself and the fact that he took that whack ass beat and made it a popular ass dance song..From nothing to something. Can't knock that shit. It's whatever..Motherfuckers who express so much hate for this kid are bitter of his success and use excuses like "he isn't real hip hop" for their bitterness..Realize Hip Hop is a movement, and elements are part of a movement and so is change..Souljah Boy is a small element of Hip Hop and a change to a different direction for the time that he was relevent.
