    9/11 The 10 year anniversary

I'd like to pay my respects to all those on TRTN who have lost their families, friends, loved ones, etc during the attacks from 10 years ago. If you or anyone you may know have experienced something so deep such as this nature, my heart and prayers go out to you and yours. When this day happened, I was in JHS and I was 14 and many of the students weren't able to go home and had to stay with the teachers, my parents worked down in that area and thankfully made it to saftey. I am from NYC and experienced such a trauma so I know exactly how it all went down. Also, I am deeply affected because today is also my b-day(I'm 24 now). so in conclusion, once again my prayers and condolences to you and yours..keep this thread going please!

Condolences to anyone and everyone who lost someone. My family is from New York but I live in Florida now. My uncle worked in the Trade Center but got off work about 30 minutes before the first plane crashed, in my eyes, my family and I are very lucky to still have him, had his shift lasted another hour or so, well.... no need to go into that... I'm glad to say that no one I or my family knew was hurt that day but we're lucky, and I can only grieve and offer condolences to those who were lost and knew those who were lost, and thank those who lost their lives trying to save others (fireman, the ppl who fought back on the plane that crash-landed in Penn., etc) for being selfless individuals at expense of their health and/or lives. Today is an odd day for most, filled with swarms of emotions. Sometimes I envy the younger children that can't understand what all is going on in this country, I mean, I was too young when the attacks happened to truly feel the effects but I've been able to see and internalize it all since. My city has a session going on at the park today to remember those lost. If your city/area has one I hope you find it and attend, and that's all I can really ask from my fellow TRTN members.

R.I.P too everyone who lost lives from 9/11, and everything that followed because of it, including the following:

The civilians killed and injured in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan

    The troops, of course

    The first responders

    The American public's rights

All Americans and internationals that were victim of the demonization of their culture after 9/11

All the animals that served in the army in the wars, as well of the 'collateral damage' of the conflicts

    The truth

    Amen.

10 years ago and it's still happening. Wow. Just wow. Much respect to this forum for being good people and not shitting on this historic day. Been on quite a few others, and let's just say it's not all like this.

I still remember going to school that day.... We all got home sent early because that same day there was a bomb threat at school.
