Well, in Tech's more heart felt or serious songs, one thing he does is have a

    A

    A

    A

    A

format. So meaning, each line rhymes the same why. He usually also uses what is known in the rap community as multis, and known formally in poetry as a feminine rhyme which is when you rhyme more than one sylable in each line as opposed to just one which would be a masculine rhyme.

    Here's an example from Tech:

    Happy Ending

I love my kids and my fans inside I sob harder A
Cause you pay the price for my life and its right like Bob Barker A
And I wont pretend its ok I'm no facade starter A
So I guess my only happy ending is in a massage parlor A

Here's an example from Shakespeare, haha

    Sonnet 20

    A woman's face with Nature's own hand painted A
Hast thou, the master-mistress of my passion; B
A woman's gentle heart, but not acquainted A
With shifting change, as is false women's fashion B

Shakespeare uses a A,B,A,B format here instead of A,A,A,A. Get it?

As for subject matter, I would do something heartfelt or something I'm passionate about, or both.

I'm really good with A,A,A,A patterns to... U can look at my poetry on FB in my notes. Just look up Brandon Landers and add me as a friend to view 'em haha
