The World Will Watch – Kansas City Is Ground Zero For A ‘Hostile Takeover’

Tech N9ne Live In Kansas City, MO

“The heart of Kansas City is beatin’.” Those were the famous words spoken by Tech N9ne over a decade ago on his now classic tribute, “It’s Alive”, a homage to Kansas City, MO: the city that now houses the empire of an independent king who rose from the Midwest and proved that there was much more than farms and cornfields in his slice of Americana. For most emcees, hometown love means everything. It’s the very foundation of who they are and what they will become. For Tech N9ne, it’s a place of struggle and eventual acceptance.

Kansas City is where it all began, and on March 24, it all begins again. History takes place when Tech N9ne kicks off the “Hostile Takeover 2012” Tour inside the Midland by AMC in the heart of Kansas City. The already special event is amplified by the emotion and excitement that will hang in the air inside the 3,000 capacity venue. This is much more than just a homecoming, it’s the culmination of over a decade of work – this is the pinnacle.

When Tech N9ne takes the stage on March 24, the only thing more electrifying than his performance will be the individuals in the crowd who have traveled far and wide to watch the Kansas City King sit at his throne. Surrounded by landmarks, downtown Kansas City is a living and breathing Tech N9ne reference. From Gates Bar-B-Q to The Paseo, fans visiting Kansas City can live the ultimate Tech N9ne experience. One well planned trip to Kansas City is like flipping through the pages of Tech N9ne’s songbook. There’s nothing else quite like it.

“Kansas City is where it all started. This is where the first Technicians were. This is where the first motherfuckers came to my show, yadadamean? When I was doing it back then. All these original Technicians mixed in with all these newer Technicians. It’s just going to be amazing! You’re going to have sixty-year-old Technicians there. It’s a beautiful vibe. I’ve seen it time and time again. And The Midland, the venue is SO wonderful, that I think it’s something that everybody should experience.” – Tech N9ne

In the past, Tech N9ne’s hometown events have featured the most notable contributors to the Kansas City rap scene. March 24 will be no different as the city comes alive and some of Kansas City’s elite emcees are expected to join Strange Music in celebration of the biggest tour in hip hop. From the new generation of representatives like CES Cru to the king himself, a single city will stand together inside the Midland while the world watches on.

“We did it Kansas City, we did it.”

Check the history, but more importantly, be a part of history on March 24 in Kansas City. It only happens once.
