Tech N9ne Wants To Work With Kanye West On Next Album [Video]

Published: October 18, 2013 in Tech N9ne by

Kanye West Tech N9ne

With its bold sound and ambitious concept, Tech N9ne’s Something Else is still resonating throughout hip hop as one of the most important albums of the year, but Tech N9ne is already thinking about the next, which could include a collaboration with hip hop’s most polarizing figure: Kanye West.

In a recent interview with Mr. Get Your Buzz Up, Tech N9ne expresses an interest in working with Kanye West for his next album (which he says will be released in the middle of 2014) Special Effects. Tech also expresses an interest in getting beats from Timbaland and Pharrell, and says that he’s already chosen a beat from Strange Music’s in-house producer Seven called “Off The Hook”.

Tech N9ne also reveals some other interesting information that is a must-know for any Technician out there, but we’re not going to talk about it here. We’ll let the man speak it for himself.

Tech, lots of your fans are fair weather. They also wouldn’t know real hip hop when they see it. Kanye is an amazing artist. Their crying mainstream, mainstream, but they want you to work with Kendrick and Eminem. Hmmmmm, their mainstream to. Mainstream is WHATS POPULAR. Everyone starts out underground, and then they become popular and big, then they get called mainstream. What a joke. You work with whoever you want man, you are one of the illest MCs to ever grace a mic, and I for one would love to see you work with other producers, even though I love Sevens work. To put you on a Dre, Kanye, Timbaland, Pharrel,or Just Blaze. beat I think it would be epic. To have a whole CD with some of the biggest producers on the planet. You deserve it. You are SOOOOO good to your fans, and they are the quickest to turn in two seconds or cry and moan about something they don’t like. Its sad. You all aint Technicians, and you damn sure are ignorant when it comes to whose an artist, mainstream, and who isn’t. It don’t matter. If you are dope, you are dope. Whether its 10 million records or 10. Kanye is dope, and Tech is dope. So it would be epic. Technician since 93!!!! Stop your hating, its an ugly look!!

I am not a Kanye fan nor will I ever be. His beats from 10 years ago were dope, but his lyrics have always been narcissistic and whiny. Having said that, Kanye believes himself to be above everyone else, and he would never lower himself to working with someone who isn’t attached to the mainstream or someone who is an independant artist. Kanye is not interested in helping anyone but himself, and Tech does not resonate with Kanye fans and will be unable to make him the kind of money he will be demanding. Timbo, Pharrell, and Just Blaze would much more likely work with Tech than Kanye would.
