Prozak Asks: ‘What Would You Change?’ – Homelessness

Apr 5 2012

Prozak - Million Miles AwayProzak’s “Million Miles Away” music video from his upcoming album Paranormal touches on many issues that run through the fabric of our society. When asked “If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?” the answers ranged from innocent (bedtimes) to very serious (child abuse, bullying, poverty).

  • Today we examine homelessness.
Prozak on homelessness:

Homelessness is a huge problem. Michigan is definitely the poorest economy of the 50 states so I see it first-hand all the time. It’s a huge problem and it’s only getting worse. These are the side effects of our failing economy and the way things are going right now. You have people losing their homes everywhere. Unfortunately it’s become too common to see people in this situation. I think that’s what happens when corporate profits become more important than people.

In my opinion the vast majority of Americans are underpaid and undereducated. I think it’s the result of the wealthy looking out for the wealthy and letting the rest fall through the cracks. In their eyes the majority is unimportant.

I think the number one cause of it is the failing economy. It’s taking a toll on the middle-class and those are the people struggling paycheck to paycheck. It doesn’t take but one thing to come along and knock them down. There’s a lot of people that can’t rely on friends, family and relatives to support them in a time of need. What happens to those people when they get laid off or if they get injured and don’t have health insurance? Something needs to be done.

What are your thoughts on homelessness? What should we be doing about it?
