Mr. Blap Recaps the Strangla Experience [Video]

Published: April 22, 2011 in Brotha Lynch Hung by

Delia has evidently never been to Southern California, doesn’t know who the hell Brotha Lynch Hung is or what the fuck Coathanga Strangla is, but Mr. Blap gives mad props to Lynch and discusses his historical ties to Strange Music and the Mann himself.

(Did anyone else think she seemed a little discombobulated every time she pronounced the album name?)

  • It’s true I hadn’t been familiar with Lynch’s work until I worked with Mr. Blap, but I sure have been educated since then! I admire both Mr. Blap’s and Brotha Lynch Hung’s work together on this project, and I’m now a Lynch fan for sure. This album is amazing! Thanks for the critique though, I did stumble a bit on the album name, but to my defense this was an impromtu interview ;)! Thanks for reviewing and giving due props to Mr. Blap! 🙂

  • Delia I appreciate your gracious and tactful response to a rather crude blog post, which goes to show how much of a class act you are. Keep up the good work.

I’m an attention seeker and write things in the spirit of generating fervor. You did very well. If it seemed I was being unnecessarily or inappropriately critical, please understand it was in my own selfish interest. I am very much a novice in these realms and was not at all intending to offend anyone or seem callous.
I am the cracked egg on the grocery story floor, resting contentedly beneath the cartons of very healthy and edible ones.

  • Thank you Stefan. I appreciate your response, and I even saw the humor in the whole situation! We’re in the same business, so it helps if I get feedback from people who are trying to do the same thing I am. No hard feelings, and thank you for your comments! In the end it’s not about us, it’s about these two wonderful artists who came together and made such a great album! Good luck!

Thank you, Delia. I am certainly not so narcissistic as to believe myself in the same business as you or Jeff, but I am grateful for your uncommonly thick skin. Jeff was very astute in referring to it as a “crude blog post” and it helps when I feel the weight of my words. Again, your handling of the interview and my inordinately disrespectful review is evidence that it is not in fact a business but a creative world, as my juvenile idealism allows me to believe, in which artists may disagree on matters of form or style, but coexist peacefully as respective artists. If you are unopposed, I would very much like to stay updated on your work. I am using such interactions as learning experiences and opportunities to gain more insight into our “business.” Again, thank you.

  • Well you’ve definitely come across well spoken and professional in these comments. Again, there’s no hard feelings, and thank you for giving Mr. Blap props, that’s all I care about in the end! I have my own blog I just started – engagepromotions.blogspot.com, and you can follow me on twitter @engage_promo. I’d be happy to keep in touch and we can help eachother in the end! Thanks Stefan 🙂
