Tech N9ne Wins Hip-Hop Fight Club

Mar 9 2011

Tech N9ne was just crowned champion of HoodHype‘s first-ever Hip-Hop Fight Club contest. Tech repped the Midwest bracket, and 50 Cent repped the East Coast bracket in the final round. Other rappers in the Midwest bracket included Eminem, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Trick Trick, Royce Da 5’9″, Yung Berg and Lupe Fiasco. Each match was a discussion by the HoodHype hosts on who is the toughest rapper.

The final battle was the ultimate mainstream vs. indie fight. And indie came out on top. HoodHype gave 50 Cent the title of king of mainstream, and Tech N9ne, the king of underground. The deciding factor was the comparison of the two rappers’ fanbases. Tech’s army beat out 50’s. “At the end of the day, his fanbase is more devoted,” the hosts of HoodHype said of Tech’s fans. “They’re more loyal, and they’re more dangerous.”
