‘Red Dead Bodies’ [Song]

Apr 6 2011

Could this be one of the most disturbing choruses that hip hop has ever heard? “Red Dead Bodies” from Brotha Lynch Hung’s Coathanga Strangla features none other than a chorus of babies crying along with distorted guitar wails, effectively bringing Lynch’s disturbed psyche to the surface. Over a propelling beat produced by Michael “Seven” Summers, Lynch spits his intricate-yet-disjointed rhymes about the usual: killing and cutting up bodies. What separates Lynch from a mere horrorcore rapper is the sheer skill that he employs with his verses, towards the end of his first verse he accelerates his phrasing to a dizzying level of delivery, leaving a listener as breathless as the victims of the Coathanga Strangla. G-Macc offers his two cents on the second verse, displaying a knack for double-time flow that he wasn’t able to display on Dinner and a Movie. “Red Dead Bodies” is another prime example of Lynch’s dual sickness: sick MC, and siccmade individual.
