Kaliko’s “Misunderstood” music video stood out from the pack, you could say. Kaliko’s music video was nominated by MTVu to participate in “The Freshmen”, a voting process that MTV has opened up for viewers to determine which new music videos will be in regular rotation on their MTVu programming. The winner of ‘The Freshmen’ contest is chosen by the number of votes submitted by their fans. Krizz was taking the lead for most of the week and in the final minutes the band, Paper Route, ended with the most votes to win the contest.

The MTVu blog post described the contest:

“This week was a fight until the finish. Krizz Kaliko fans let their opinion be known in the comments section, but it was Paper Route who rallied right near the end to earn enough votes for the Freshmen win… I think we should all take a moment and give Krizz Kaliko a hearty round of applause as well.”
