Tacking on yet another accomplishment in 2011, Tech N9ne has landed on The Source’s 14th Annual Power 30 list.
The list, which seeks to rank the most influential and powerful people in the hip hop industry, has become one of the most anticipated features in the magazine’s history. For the November issue of The Source, The Power 30 ranked the independent giant known as Tech N9ne at a respectable #25, ranking above Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Lupe Fiasco. Listed among some of the biggest names in music, Tech N9ne joins the likes of Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Jay-Z. Praising his contributions to music during a stellar year, The Source notes:
“Bypassing the major label route, Tech can credit his ever-growing fanbase (his fans are known as ‘Technicians’) to his extensive 200 days-plus yearly touring schedule. His most recent record, All 6’s And 7’s, released earlier this year, debuted at #4 on Billboard’s top 200, trailing Lady Gaga and Adele, selling over 50,000 units in its first week. With superstars like Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes lining up to work with him, Mr. N9ne deserves a seat at the Power 30 table.”
Drake may be making the headlines, but with Welcome To Strangeland going strong and his contributions to hip hop being praised, Tech N9ne is bigger than ever.
