‘Billy’s Corner’ Reviews ‘KLUSTERFUK’ [Video]

Mar 22 2012

Not sure how Technicians are going to feel about this one.

Here we have a critic, Billy, from realhiphophead.com and his very candid review of Tech N9ne’s newest EP, KLUSTERFUK.

For starters, Billy highlights the difference from Tech’s previous few records which introduced more popular artists and styles, and discusses the way Tech always manages to separate himself from the rest – by bringing back the style that makes him so raw and gritty as an artist.

In addition to bringing back those filthy lyrics we’ve all grown to love, Tech N9ne introduces an assortment of different musical genres and tempos to match. In particular, “Blur” and the title track “Klusterfuk” bring in some interesting and unusual undertones that fans may not have experienced before. Billy also addresses the energy that comes from the record, noting that you can’t deny it’s intensity.

But you can’t have the good without the bad. Aside from all the positives, Billy states that the hooks make such an attempt at being grandiose that they come across as cheesy. A perfect example of this, Billy argues, is in “Awkward” making the song, well… awkward.

In the end, however, he gives the album an 8.2 out of 10, encouraging fans to give it a listen.
