'It Was Really A Natural Fit For Us' – Bernz Of ¡MAYDAY! Talks Strange Music And Touring With BallerStatus.com

May 30 2012

Following their work on Tech N9ne’s KLUSTERFUK and the release of their Strange Music debut, Take Me To Your Leader, ¡MAYDAY! seemingly took over the Strange Music world and now with their spot on the Hostile Takeover 2012 Tour, they hope to spread the virus even farther.

In a brand new exclusive interview with Baller Status, ¡MAYDAY!’s own Bernz discussed the band’s history, influence, and high-profile past with Lil Wayne including a record deal with YMCMB that almost happened.

On signing with Strange Music, he explained why ¡MAYDAY! fit in so well:

“Tech and Strange Music, to us, is the blueprint of what the future is in music. While it’s the future, it’s also going back to the roots of what real music business is. In Miami, we were always known as a really do-it-yourself outfit – we shoot out own videos, we create our own promotion, merchandise and imagery, and all that sh**. We’re very in control of everything and the brand that is Mayday. So, in a way, it was a really natural fit for us.”

With plans to tour extensively for the rest of 2012, Bernz assures fans that ¡MAYDAY! is just getting started.
