Krizz Kaliko Discusses Music And Struggle

In preparation for Krizz Kaliko’s “Merry Krizzmas” show in Colorado Springs on the 21st, ColoradoSprings.com sat down with the Strange Lieutenant to talk about his ability to inspire others with his own struggles.

For long time Kalikoholics, it’s no secret that Krizz hasn’t had the easiest life ever. From his Vitiligo condition to his bi-polar disorder diagnosis, Krizz has taken the hurdles that life has dealt and turned them into beautiful music that helps others through their own trials and tribulations.

While talking about how he was inspired to start rapping, Krizz had this to say:

After my dad died when I was 15, I decided to not take anymore (expletive),” he says. “I developed a wit about myself and started beatboxing against other dudes. They weren’t rapping but I was. It was a blessing in disguise, and I appreciate my mom so much. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have a house. Everything I have is paid for by music.

Krizz goes on to talk about fans writing to him and telling him how his music has helped them through life, and credits his Mother’s guidance for his musical abilities.

This is a dope article you Kalikoholics won’t want to miss!
