MURS continues to prove himself to be much more than just an emcee.

Any long-time MURS fan knows that it’s not just about rap when it comes to the LA-born spitter. Throughout his career, MURS has tackled issues of race, sexuality, and more through his genre-bending brand of hip hop.

In a recent interview with Parlé Magazine, MURS addresses “Black Girls Be Like”, a track on his upcoming album Have A Nice Life. In the interview, MURS reveals the track to be an empowering anthem of sorts, but with a modern edge to it.

“It’s kind of my version of ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ because I’m a big 2Pac fan”, MURS tells the interviewer before delving more in-depth into the themes and style of the track.
