Tech N9ne is proud of the diversity featured in Special Effects, with influences from all genres of music.

Tech could be considered a musical connoisseur, combining a variety of genres into next-level hits. He explained to Billboard.com how he has no plans on stopping his progress towards genre fluency in his music.

“Yes, I love metal, and having Slipknot on there lets you know that. We took it to the hills of rap with Eminem, we took it to the hills of darkness with [composer] Joseph Bishara. It’s all in there. I’m just trying to show people we should get together and do beautiful music. That’s the theme of this album. F— separation. Why can’t we mix and match?”

He also shows his appreciation for Eminem being featured on the album in exchange for a verse, without having to pay a cent. The world of music really does give back in unique ways.
