Tech N9ne is continuing to make a buzz, being the first rap artist featured in Kansas City’s biggest rock music festival, and the nation’s biggest one-day music festival.
Tech has been featured in multiple music festivals across the country, like the Higher Grounds Music Festival, Power 106’s Powerhouse 2015, and Rock on The Range. Now, he will return to Kansas City to perform at Rockfest 2015.
Being the first rap artist to ever perform at the event, Rockfest’s program director, Bob Edwards, speaks highly on the addition of the Strange Music artist. He feels Tech will complement the style of the festival with his ability to combine elements from both rock and rap. He also notes his contribution to the Kansas City community with his music.
He’s a great artist with a great following in Kansas City, and we felt like he needs to be on a stage and play in front of 50,000 people in his hometown. You see all the work he’s done in Kansas City and how he’s built his career to the level it’s at, doing it all by himself. He’s a self-made Kansas City guy and he represents a lot of the Kansas City work ethic. And if anyone deserves to play on a big stage in Kansas City, it’s Tech.
We’ll be looking forward to how he performs back in his stomping grounds!
