Turns out one of the illest verses of the year could have been foiled by – a hot tub?!

Just a few weeks prior to dropping Special Effects, Tech N9ne blew listeners away with the long-awaited release of “Speedom (WWC2)”. The massive collaboration, which saw Tech finally team with Eminem, also included a tongue-twisting feature from none other than Krizz Kaliko.

Speaking with HipHopDX recently, Krizz recalled what it was like to write his fan-favorite verse and how it was almost lost forever:

We did a Canadian tour and I actually lost the verse because I write everything in my phone and I got in the hot tub with my phone, fried it, I didn’t have it backed up on iCloud or nothing…

Luckily, as Krizz went on to explain, he was able to salvage the majority of the verse that ended up on the final cut. The conversation with Krizz also included details behind the initial writing of the track and his determination to outshine both Tech N9ne and Eminem.
