It’s often that a fan of hip-hop may wonder what kind of music his or her favorite artist listens to. Do they strictly listen to themselves? Country? Classical? In Tech N9ne’s case, it sounds like Scarface’s Deeply Rooted is in heavy rotation.

In a recent interview with Unique Access Ent., Tech N9ne breaks down why Deeply Rooted is such an important piece for hip-hop. He praises the versatility of the album, as well as Scarface’s ability to relate to his listeners.

“He’s great, man. He captured the essence of a real dope man on Deeply Rooted. If you ever knew a dope man or you ever were a dope man, you’ll feel like that’s you.”

The comments did not go unnoticed, for Scarface was quick to thank both Tech N9ne and Soren Baker for the praise.
