For Denver artist Josh Rogers, the opportunity to design for the company that’s been steadily releasing his favorite music has been a dream come true:

“I’ve been a fan of Tech’s ever since he first came here with ICP and did the show at Red Rocks. It’s crazy because I’ve always done pieces for the artists–canvasses for Tech and all the other guys on the label. Getting that offer from Liquid 9, when they asked if I wanted to design for the merch team–it was a pretty big deal for me because I’ve been trying for so long and it finally happened.”

Josh (also known as KANZ89 in the art world) has been preparing for the opportunity ever since his humble beginnings as a graffiti artist at the age of 15. Since then he has built quite the reputation: currently he has made many large-scale murals around Denver and was also one of the first graffiti artists to be commissioned by the city to create a public piece. Before being contacted by Liquid 9, Josh got his feet wet designing t-shirts for Ill Style Heroes, a clothing company that sells shirts designed exclusively by top graffiti artists around the nation. So far he has designed shirts for Strange Music, Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun and Brotha Lynch Hung. Josh’s talents are not only in demand from elite MCs but marquee athletes as well: he has also designed for former Bronco and current Miami Dolphins wide reciever Brandon Marshall. For a 21-year-old earning a BA in fine arts, Josh already has quite the resume and a very bright future ahead of him.
