In another title-as-homage to a West Coast classic (recall “Dollars and Sense” with Glasses Malone?), Jay Rock comes correct with “Fuck The Police” from the Black Friday mixtape. Unlike the aggressive and in-your-face vibe of the NWA classic, Jay Rock’s version retains a relaxed vibe, though the sentiment towards one-time remain the same. Jay Rock turns the song into an extended metaphor that compares the police to women, or in this case, “bitches” being that Jay isn’t a fan of these females: “She’s the dirtiest bitch I know / she done fucked every nigga I know”. Ab-Soul offers his support to Jay’s hook with a laid-back hook, infectious with its simplicity over the laid-back West Coast groove.
