In cinema, you think of Cannes and Sundance; In punk-rock and alternative music, Coachella and Vans Warped come to mind. But when it comes to free-spirited, independently produced rap and hip-hop, there is but a single name, greatest in its class and genre, to which your mind should immediately refer: Paid Dues. This year, a host of Strange Artists took the stage at the King Kong of flow festivals, including one of the newest on the label, Jay Rock, appearing as a member of Black Hippy.
