Jay Rock’s music video for “Hood Gone Love It” is a throwback to the days of the West Coast street videos like Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” and Snoop Doggy Dogg’s “Gin and Juice”, so we asked Jay Rock to tell us his favorite hood video of all-time. Here’s what he had to say:

“My favorite one I gotta say is DMX (sings) ‘Stop, drop, shut ’em down, open up shop!’ That’s one of my favorite classics right there. All of NWA’s, all of Dr. Dre’s, and Snoop’s videos…they were classic. A lot of Pac videos were classic.

That DMX one was the craziest one though. He had a whole movement behind him when he first came out. When he came with that ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem’ I was like ‘Wow!'”
