With all of Strangeland watching, Tech N9ne made his official debut on the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards when he appeared in the night’s first Cypher segment along with Machine Gun Kelly, B.o.B, Big K.R.I.T., and Kendrick Lamar. Spitting with purpose, Tech N9ne exploded out of the Cypher and landed some of the night’s most memorable punchlines. The national exposure quickly became evident as minutes after the Cypher aired, Tech N9ne became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter. Fans all over the country pushed Tech N9ne into the top trending topics with their reaction to his Cypher performance. If Tech’s ever growing popularity wasn’t clear before, it certainly came through following the awards show.
