Following the release of an official trailer and a brand new single, ¡MAYDAY!’s Strange Music debut, Take Me To Your Leader, is quickly building a buzz as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

With a new objective in mind, the band looks to take listeners on a new journey past the events of Stuck On An Island. In a brand new exclusive interview, ¡MAYDAY!’s Bernz opened up about the new direction on Take Me To Your Leader and what it’s like to tour as heavily as Strange Music does. Speaking on the album’s concept, Bernz shared some insight on what inspired the new darker vibe:

“You know, in this Internet-obsessed society, everybody’s a follower right now. We wanted to talk a little bit about how social networking and shit is affecting people, making them lose their personalities by hopping onto these web trends and defining themselves that way. And the other thing … We left the island. We got back. And we wanna know who’s in charge of this weird dead world.”

Bernz also went on to discuss the band’s work ethic and what it’s like to record while out on the road. With ¡MAYDAY! about to set out on Tech N9ne’s “Hostile Takeover 2012” Tour, the Miami crew is staring down one of its biggest years yet.
