Chalk up another great month for Tech N9ne for April of 2015.

Green Label cited Tech N9ne’s accomplishments during the rainy month with their Rap Power Rankings of 2015. While Tech will undoubtedly rank higher in May, his accomplishments in April are not to be ignored, especially when you consider who was in the race for the tenth spot.

Full disclosure: this last spot came down to Tech N9ne and Eminem. Em had two guest verses this month, on Yelawolf’s aforementioned “Best Friends,” and on Tech’s “Speedom,” and Em is in that elite class we mentioned earlier who can make a bigger splash with one verse than many do with an album.

Ultimately though, Em did appear on Tech’s song, not the other way around. And now that the build up to the Strange Music boss’s upcoming album, Special Effects, is in full effect, we felt like the man himself deserved to grab the Ranking’s last spot.

It will be fascinating to watch what happens next month, when Special Effects is out. Tech has a history of shocking the music industry by dropping number one albums without any of the major label backing, and if he does it again he could find himself right in the mix of the Power Rankings.
