Sometimes life is just too perfect.
If you’ve been a fan of MURS for quite some time now, then you most certainly know of his collaborative projects with Rhymesayers co-founders/artists Slug and Ant (collectively known as Atmosphere) under the name of FELT. Here’s a little background in case your memory is fuzzy:
…since it’s inception, there has been much debate on how FELT came to be, but the end result is a playful banter between two seasoned MC’s coming together to have lyrical exchanges about life, love and women. In 2002 with production from The Grouch (Living Legends), Slug and Murs set their sights on an all grown up Wednesday Addams and created Felt: A Tribute to Christina Ricci. With a friendly debate about which of them would have a better chance at sleeping with her and a determination to pay homage and save the careers of beloved B-list actresses of the silver screen, the phenomenon of Felt was born.
After the initial project dedicated to Christina Ricci dropped, 2 other projects dropped dedicated to Lisa Bonet and Rosie Perez respectively. All three projects have reached almost cult status among underground hip hop fans, and the question has always been “will there be another”?
While we don’t have a concrete confirmation of the return of Felt, we do have this tweet went out by Atmosphere’s account, depicting two of the three Felt subjects together, with a caption calling for someone to make a call to MURS to “get the band back together”!
this is a sign. someone call @murs. it might be time to get the band back together. pic.twitter.com/EO0tSeZDx8

With this being put out into the universe, all we can do is wait and hope.
