This Week In Strange 2

Quite simply, Strange Music is doing too much! So much so, that we had to put it in one post to make it easier for everybody to keep up.

Check out what happened in Strangeland this week…

MURS PUTS IT ALL ON THE LINE WITH “THE WORST”

One of the ballsiest songs/music videos that you’ll ever hear/see, “The Worst” features MURS as his marriage is tested and he’s forced to reckon with temptation. Watch this until the final frame. Is there such a thing as being too honest? MURS has definitely come the closest to finding out. Pick up Have a Nice Life if you haven’t already.

STEVIE STONE, TECH N9NE AND MYSTIKAL MAKE IT RAIN

The Malta Bend single “Rain Dance”, featuring Tech N9ne and Mystikal, got the surreal video treatment that it deserved. The music video features three of hip hop’s most charismatic performers doing their thing in a tripped-out tribal fantasy.

E-A-SKI DROPS A GEM WITH TECH N9NE AND TOO $HORT

Oakland legends E-A-Ski and Too $hort get with Tech N9ne on the cheddar chasing anthem “Wake’Em Up”. Guaranteed to increase hustle by 100%. A never-before-heard Tech N9ne verse gets released from the vaults and goes straight to your ear drums in this Bay-Area-to-KC connect of a track.

RITTZ, YELAWOLF, ROYCE DA 5’9″ AND KXNG CROOKED
DROP THE REMIX OF THE SUMMER

If we told you that Rittz, Yelawolf, Royce da 5’9″ and KXNG CROOKED were on a track together, would you really need to read anything more? The “LAF” remix is already a contender for the lyrical flex session of 2015 (the other being “Speedom (WWC2)”). Four elite spitters + one incredible production = hip hop heaven.

HIPHOPDX NAMES “SPEEDOM (WWC2)”

AS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF 2015 (SO FAR)

Tech N9ne Speedom HipHopDX

When you have a collab as intensely anticipated and hyped as the one between Tech N9ne and Eminem on “Speedom (WWC2)”, rarely does it still exceed expectations. Tech N9ne, Eminem and Krizz Kaliko managed to end the “Choppers” series on the highest of notes, with a straight-up flow clinic from some of the finest technical spitters in the game.

HipHopDX praised the song as one of the best of 2015 so far, and said the following:

“Three double-timing emcees on one track is usually a recipe for trouble, but not here. “Speedom (WWC2)” grabbed Eminem and brought him together with Tecca Nina for speeding train ride of superior wordplay set over a galloping beat. Who won the mini battle here is anyone’s guess. But the combination of these three sent this song into the stratosphere.”
