On Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 2:00PM CST, legendary East Coast emcee, R.A. The Rugged Man, appeared live on the Strange Music Podcast for a brand new interview regarding his work with Tech N9ne.

Readers might recall that we broke news of a new collaboration between R.A. and Tech N9ne in early February. During R.A.’s live interview, he shared some insight on the new collaboration and also revealed Krizz Kaliko’s role on the new track. Check out what R.A. had to say about the long awaited collaboration:

“I produced a movie and Tech was supposed to be in one of the scenes. The scene ended up being a little crazy. It had all these vagina masks and women with vagina faces. It was when Tech’s hair was still crazy, so I thought it would be a good look to have this crazy dude with all these chicks with vagina faces just hanging around. Then at the last minute, Tech ended up on tour and he was like, ‘You know, I just can’t make this appearance, things got crazy.’

So, then he hit me up and came out when I was in Los Angeles. He was like, ‘I love you as an emcee. R.A., you’re an incredible emcee and anytime you wanna get down, let’s do some music.’ So when I was putting this album to bed, I had this dude hit me up randomly and said, ‘If you got a connection to Tech N9ne, I’ve got this perfect beat for Tech. Can you get it to Tech?’ I listened to it, and I said, ‘Yo, this beat is crazy for my album. If I can get this to Tech, how about me and Tech for my album?’ He came back like, ‘That would be the most insane shit I ever heard in my life.’ So, I hit up and Tech and said, ‘I got this perfect beat that’s catered to you. Let me send it to you and maybe you can hop on the album.’ I sent it to him and he was like, ‘I love that beat, you’re an incredible emcee. Let’s do it.’ So, we made it happen.

Tech just laid down a really brutal verse for my album. Tech really blessed me, he’s a real good brother. Krizz, holyshit, homeboy. We did the joint together and murdered it. I can make it official, Krizz Kaliko is going to be doing the chorus with me and Tech for the joint that’s on my album.”
