Strange Encounters: Tech N9ne’s Top 10 Celebrity Run-Ins

Mar 5 2014

SHeen

Tech N9ne has been around for quite some time now, and much of that time has been spent making music alongside other high-profile artists, so it makes sense that he’s encountered some huge celebrities!

We were in a nostalgic mood, so we decided to go back into the Strange vaults and dig up 10 of Tech’s most awesome celebrity encounters.

10. Mickey and Minnie Mouse

Micky & Minny

Real or not, is there really a bigger celebrity out there than Mickey Mouse? He’s like the Michael Jordan of animated personalities, and Tech is the Michael Jordan of lyricism so…in a way, this makes sense.

9. 50 Cent

50 Cent

Yes, Tech has met an insane amount of rappers in his career, but this one is important for a couple reasons. First, it’s goddamn 50 cent. The man changed hip hop in more ways than most people are willing to admit. Secondly, ol’ Curtis just went indie! Maybe these two should meet up again and see what comes from it!

8. Mr. Ed Lover

Ed Lover

Tech recently met the legendary Ed Lover while in NYC promoting Tech N9ne Collabos: Strangeulation. Not only did Ed Lover give the world “C’mon son!”, but we also have him to thank for (at least half of) the awesome era-defining program Yo! MTV Raps.

7. Spike Lee

Spike Lee

While in NYC promoting the upcoming collabos album, Tech also met the iconic director Spike Lee. Whether or not you agree with Mr. Lee’s admittedly divisive views on many things, the man has made some incredible films, including one of this blogger’s absolute favorites, Do The Right Thing.

6. Chris D’Elia

Chris D'elia

If you’re not familiar with this quickly rising comedian, you need to get that way ASAP. After laughing our asses off to his comedy in 10 Minute Podcast and the television show Whitney, we found out that Chris also happens to be a huge Tech N9ne fan, so it was only right that the two met.

5. Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged sevenfold

If you know Tech like we do, then you know he’s a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan. So of course when the band was in KCMO for a show, Tech came through to show some love in the form of a couple Strange DVDs, some Boulevard Wheat, and of course Gates BBQ.

4. Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart

It’s official, 2014 is Kevin Hart’s year. Having starred in several movies and currently killing it in the stand up comedy game, you’d be hard pressed to find someone that doesn’t know who he is. While in KC for his “Let Me Explain” tour, Tech got to go backstage and meet the comedian. Whether or not we’ll ever get a Chocolate Droppa / Tech N9ne collab, only time will tell…

3. Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan

Yes, this is actually an event that occurred in the universe. We don’t know how, or why, we’re just happy to know that it happened. WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN TECHAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU, BROTHERRRR?!?!

2. Charlie Sheen

SHeen

This ALSO is an actual event that occurred in the universe. While at Gathering Of The Juggalos in 2011, Tech ran into Sheen and turned him into a legitimate Technician. Sheen even tweeted about his experience hearing Tech for the first time!

1. The Doors

Doors

This is a big one. Any good Technician knows that Tech’s love for The Doors inspired the entire idea of Strange Music, so it was a monumental occasion when producer Fred Wreck introduced Tech to the remaining members of the iconic rock group, and even got them featured on Something Else. Their collaboration with Tech is one of the last recordings Ray Manzerek was involved with before passing away in May of last year.

So, there are 10 of Tech N9ne’s craziest celebrity encounters. With Tech’s status becoming larger by the day, who knows what kind of crazy celebrity stories we’ll have by this time next year!!!
