Crooked I Supports Brotha Lynch Hung

There is no doubting the amount of buzz that Tyler The Creator and Odd Future have managed to build up in an extraordinarily short amount of time. The West Coast collective has been at the center of controversy for the last year thanks to their reckless reputation in hip hop. Most recently, Tyler The Creator won an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, further launching the Odd Future name into mainstream consciousness.

In a recent interview with VIBE.com, Game suggested that he thought of Tyler The Creator as the West Coast Eminem. Game’s comments sparked a debate among fans, but the most interesting opinion came via Crooked I’s official Twitter. Responding to HipHopDX, Crooked I supported Brotha Lynch Hung’s legacy by stating that Tyler The Creator’s style is nothing new and has been done for years by Brotha Lynch Hung. This certainly isn’t the first time this argument has been made, but with Crooked I’s sign off, it might be time for the rest of hip hop to acknowledge Brotha Lynch Hung’s contributions to the game.
