SM Live: Should We Pay College Athletes?

Oct 12 2011

SM Live With MakzillaThe NCAA may be a non-profit organization, but that doesn’t change the fact that a few fat cats are making millions of dollars off of the cheap labor of athletes who are getting paid a fraction to the overall gain in the form of an education, books, room, and board.

The NCAA says they will protect their amateur athletes from the exploitation of “professional and commercial enterprises.” This begs the notion that the athletes are getting exploited the most by the organization who swears not to exploit them. When athletes have no room or availability to get a job, should they at least be compensated for the millions of dollars they generate for their university and the NCAA?

Makzilla tackles this and more in another groundbreaking episode of SM Live!
