Attention critics: Tech N9ne can hear you!

You may recall Tech N9ne expressing his distaste for a certain review posted about his performance at Paid Dues this year. Well that review was written by LA Weekly critic Max Bell and as it turns out, inspired Tech N9ne to make one of the most profound songs of his career and the lead single from Something Else: “Fragile” featuring ¡MAYDAY!, Kendall Morgan and Kendrick Lamar.

Tech N9ne recently had a chance to sit down with the critic while he was in Los Angeles recording his Therapy EP. The encounter has now been written about in this article appropriately titled “I Pissed Off Tech N9ne. Now We’re Having Dinner”.

The humorous and ironic piece recounts the incident that led to the meeting and is filled with funny, insightful details such as the fact that Tech N9ne wore his transparent mask (which has sparked a newfound obsession for the king of independent hip hop) to the restaurant.

Walking in, I see the 41-year-old self-proclaimed “king of darkness,” dressed all in black, right down to his boots. Arriving with Abbott, the broad-shouldered Tech also wears a transparent face mask. There aren’t many people in the restaurant yet, but everyone’s looking.
