Krizz Kaliko 5 Favorite Krizz Kaliko Hooks

Maybe Krizz Kaliko really is the Genius he says he is. How else could you explain his seemingly effortless ability to construct all these hooks that you can’t get out of your head?

In anticipation for his imminent contributions to Tech N9ne Collabos – Strangeulation, we talked to Krizz Kaliko and asked him what his five favorite hooks of his own are. The chameleon-like talent hated the fact that he could only choose five (“It should be like 20 favorite” he said), but obliged and gave us his picks.

Krizz Kaliko – “Spaz”Kickin’ & Screamin’

A classic from Kaliko’s best-selling album to date Kickin’ & Screamin’, fans have also grown accustomed to Krizz’s manic live rendition of this song with Tech doing his verse that features an insane quadruple-time flow.

If you feel like you’ll go insane then
Spaz! Spaz! Spaz! Spaz!
Everything you think is not the same, you still
Spaz! Spaz! Spaz! Spaz!
If you test the water prepare to swim
Spaz! Spaz! Spaz! Spaz!
You might just go crazy standing there
Spaz! Spaz! Spaz! Spaz!

Tech N9ne – “Caribou Lou”Everready

This song’s status as a gold single is in no small part due to the beautifully simple chorus in which Krizz Kaliko and an unidentified woman break down the ingredients for the Caribou Lou, the deceptively tasty concoction that’ll have you hitting the floor by the end of the night. Krizz Kaliko’s extremely low register employed in this song has been called the “Max Monster” by Tech N9ne.

151 Rum, Pineapple juice and Malibu
Caribou get them all numb
Make baby girl come, out of her shell and raise hell
Don’t stop till the cops come

Tech N9ne – “Welcome To The Midwest”Everready

Krizz’s sinister take on Dean Martin’s cadence in “Sway” has crowds waving their arms from side to side wherever this song is performed. Rat pack swagger and midwest menace combine to make this one of the most memorable hooks on a classic album.

It doesn’t really matter where you go
Where you’ve been
Beautiful foreign lands you’ve been in
Gun play reigns
Sun rays shine
Stay inside you should be fine
I’ll show you, follow me
Wel-come to the mid-west

Tech N9ne Collabos – “Kocky”Welcome To Strangeland

It ain’t nothing for a musical narcissist like Krizz Kaliko to come up with a ego-swinging hook such as this one. Seven’s indignant production serves as the perfect sound bed for Krizz’s proclamation of supremacy.

See you can tell be the way that I use my wealth I’m cocky
This the man right chyea as to ya’ll out south I’m cocky
And if you ain’t figured out what we talkin’ about
I’m the one they all talkin’ about
And if they hatin’ me that only mean my name in they mouth I’m cocky

Tech N9ne Collabos – “Withdrawal”Strangeulation

Tech N9ne - Strangeulation (Deluxe Edition)

Undoubtedly the wildcard out of the entire list. Why? Because it hasn’t been gone through the rigorous test of public opinion. Here’s what we can tell you: over a subdued production punctuated by thundering drums, Krizz Kaliko definitely does come through with one of his most heartfelt sentiments. The the fact that this is a bonus track from Strangeulation just goes to show the quality control instilled into the latest Tech N9ne Collabos project.

(Withdrawal)
Take me to a place
Where I can’t feel my face
And I’m half the man I think I’m supposed to be
(Withdrawl)
‘Cause I hate living here
Where I gotta face my fears
And I can’t let this drug take over me
